Moonshadow, like it’s namesake song by Cat Stevens, was born out of finding the beauty in hard times, having taken my health and wellbeing into my own hands following illness. I am so passionate about the impact this shift has had on my mental and physical health and wellness that I felt called to turn this into a career.

Anyone who knows me will attest to my being a natural born teacher - my early career was as a secondary/SEND teacher - and more recently as a healer. When I am passionate about something I want nothing more than to share it and to help others.

The biggest challenge of my life has been my diagnosis of Hashimoto’s Disease in late 2022, but I also consider it one of life’s greatest gifts, as healing my illness naturally put me on a path towards finding my life’s purpose: natural, holistic health and wellbeing with a focus on movement and nutrition.

We are conditioned as a society to believe that our minds and bodies are separate, unconnected entities, conditioned not to heal ourselves holistically but to trust a band-aid approach for individual symptoms. I am here to help you bring your whole self into alignment and wholeness, to attune not only to your mind and body but to your own and nature’s cycles.

Once I began living in alignment with nature’s cycles and my own, using movement and breathwork as medicine and nourishing my body the way it wanted, something incredible happened: I began not only to heal my disease but also improve my overall wellbeing: the anxiety that had held me back for my entire life reduced, my sleep improved, my menstrual cycles stopped being a painful burden and my relationships improved. My live became richer.

Yoga has been an integral part of my journey. Having grown up with Yogi parents who occasionally took me on retreats as a teenager, I continued my practice casually into my early twenties, where pregnancy and postpartum yoga was my saving grace for calming my anxiety and embracing my changing body. However, it was only following on from my Hashimoto’s diagnosis that my fire where yoga was concerned was truly ignited - when I embraced yoga not only for the asanas done on a yoga mat, but also as a way of life. Thus I spent 2023 gaining my 350hr qualification as a Women’s yoga teacher, with specialisms in cyclic living, pregnancy, postpartum, mum and baby and menopause yoga and baby massage.

There is such a beauty in the way a woman’s body changes throughout life, yet in our patriarchal society these changes have become taboo. It is my absolute joy to support and hold space for women to nurture, heal, and embrace their beautiful bodies and souls.
